Sl350 bad “Boot” Battery, swapped it by using a 3rd Battery connected with Jump Leads to the Terminals, carefully removed Terminals from “dead” Battery and then took it out and slotted nice shiny new Battery in and carefully replaced Terminals, removed Jump Leads and still have all my original settings. Happy Days!

Well done. Having read some horror stories about disconnecting the battery on some 203's, l did a similar thing when recently fitting a new battery to my 209 (similar to 203 in this regard) and it was great not having to reset anything.

I changed the battery on my ML and the fuel gauge hasn't worked since.
Continuously shows full.

On my 230 I took old one out, put new one in and tadaaa, all good! Maybe I was lucky- in saying that it was probably the only thing went right in that car

As above, same for me. I just disconnected the old battery put the new one in and reconnected it, no issues.

An old B-Class.
Good battery chargers like CTEK - have a power supply setting for use when changing batteries.
