So my C Class Coupe has had the standard Pirelli P Zero run flat tyres but its now come the time to change them. I was thinking of changing them all to normal tyres but wanted to see if this is quiet common to get done and if anyone has had any problems doing this?

My fronts are 225/40 R19 and rear is 255/35 R19.

Tyres wise I was thinking of getting the Michellin Pilot Sport 4 - anyone used these? Or have any better/cost-saving suggestions?

Thank you!

Much more comfortable on normal tyres. Not sure if available in your size but I can seriously recommend Continental EcoContact, A rated wet grip and B rated economy. Quiet and comfortable

Only had run flats fitted once and couldn't wait to change them. I'm not a fan.
Michelin is a good choice of tyre and you may want to consider Goodyear F1 Asymmetric 5's which are a little cheaper but equally good.

Incidentally, you can switch to 245x35x19 rear tyres if you wish as that is the recommended size with the 225x40 fronts.

Currently running Pilotsport 4's on my E coupe and I have to say, they are noticibly harder-riding than the GY Assy 3's they replaced.

Did exactly this with my BMW (same tyre sizes) changed from Potenza runflats to PS4 standard tyres and the difference is night and day. I also enquired whether my insurance company needed notification and they confirmed that they didn’t. For back-up I bought a compressor and can of goo off EBay to carry in the car and a space saver spare I keep in the garage

Definitely will get a compressor and can of goo to put in the boot for emergency use just in case. Thanks guys put my mind at rest to get normal tyres.

Just trying to make sure I go for a tyre that's got good grip but also more importantly will be good economically and last a while. Any other suggestions welcome! Thanks

P.S. as I'm in the NHS blackcircles have a promotion on Michellin tyres meaning I can get all 4 x Michellin PS4 for £556 (£139 a tyre) which I thought I'm not going to find better than!

You won’t go far wrong with PS4 I’ve been running them a year now and would fit again, when I fitted them it was a toss-up between MIchelin or Goodyear and I bought the former on offer
