changing exhaust manifold on C180

Hi all, another post if i may.
Because of the problems with my W124, 230E see last post, i have the opportunity to buy from my father in law a W reg C180 estate. It has 107,000 on the clock full mb history but has a slight blow from the exhaust manifold. Is it easy to change this without getting underneath the car to split the exhaust from the manifold. I had a look but could not see much because of the heat shield.
Is it a good buy and any problems to look out for.

You do need access from underneath, to undo the down pipe, car does not have to be very high, other than that it is straight forward
