changing oil on a mercedes 220cdi

I am trying to change the oil on my 220 cdi (2001). I cannot locate the sump nut to drain the oil.
Can you help me please?

Thank you for that information. Its very helpful. It looks almost impossible to get at as there are at least 2 panels that seem to need removing first. Is it only accessible from a pit?

Its easy to drop the under panel. The MB dealers use a pump via the dip stick tube

Yes it is and that panel has to come off,,they are never difficult

Thanks again for the information.
There are 2 panels. 1 at the front and 1 towards the middle of the car.
Is the sump nut under the panel in the middle of the car, on the right as you are looking at the car from the front?

As in the link,,on the right just towards the front of the engine,,I do not know which panel it is

I think you will find you do have a dipstick tube, just no dipstick & it will be plugged off. Always another option for any future oil changes.

Bottom right in windscreen you will see a long number starting WDB 20 the next number please

Remove the second (from the front) plastic undertray.
The sump plug enters the sump from the right hand side horizontally (so the oil will fly out sideways, not downwards, to start with).
Catch the copper washer before it drops in the bucket of old oil!
