Hi Guys,

Is there a trick I'm missing? I can extract the fog light bulb and dipped beam bulb without any grief but the side light bulb holder doesn't want to budge at all. It's not like it's jammed in but I can't seem to pull the d*amn
thing out without forcing it.

Any ideas greatfully received.

Thanks,

Steve.

Changing side light bulb on C240

The bulb dosent just pull out by the wire, leaving the holder in place does it? ive had a couple of cars that have the sidelight bulbs like this?

Give it a try.

Changing side light bulb on C240

Hi Steve

If its the same as the side light on the 500se,it'll be a small metal holder, the holder & bulb come as one.But at the lamp itself, there's a small metal bracket at the side of the hole with a kind "V" shaped type thing, basically if you take the letter V and lie it down so that the pointed end is over the hole, thats what holds the bulb in,you'll see what I mean if yours is the same,it can be quite hard to get out,I know mine was,I hope that helps.

Regards

Changing side light bulb on C240

Thanks guys,

I got it sorted in the end, it was a combination of teasing it out and use of greater force. I've just got this car and I'm paranoid of breaking anything on it.

Just out of interest the lamp arrangement is totally different from my old 190E. Dipped and main beam are split over two bulbs in the C class as opposed to the combination bulb on the 190E.

Thanks again.

S.
