I've been posting away on mbclub, but haven't graced these forums walls for some time.
So then the rear pads/discs - it does look a tricky job. Am considering if I should attempt it myself or give it to an indy, and buy all the parts myself.
I don't have axel stands, I do have access to a trolley jack would that be enough?
I found it straightforward. I did them mine the drive with a trolley jack and axle stands.
The only area where there might be a problem is loosening the rear brake shoes before getting the old disk off. One of mine came off with no problem, the other had to have the shoe adjuster loosened. It is a fiddly job to do through the wheel stud hole.
Apart from that, quite easy and well within the scope of an average DIY mechanic.
