i had an accident on my mercedes e220 2003-- one xenon light had to be replaced
now i've remarked that there is a difference in color of the light?
is this normal
one light (the original) hes this cold light , typical for xenon; the other(the one that is replaced) is warm light --both are hella and were put there by the repairer

now the repairer gives me the following story:

the warm light will become brighter as times passes
someone else sais that mercedes has 2 kinds of xenon light: warm and cold lights?

what is the trueth?

possible, i was under the impression that xenon bulbs should be replaced in pairs to avoid this problem,

the latter could also be true, even normal light bulbs can have a warm and colder brightness to them,

Xennon Lights

All lamps will have colour rendering this will be a K rating as in Kelvin (temperature) to give a temperature for example 3000K would be a warm light 6000k would be a cold light (towards the blue end of the spectrum). Lamp colour will certainly not get colder with use. Maybe it's worth checking with the lamp manufacturer to see if there are differing colour renderings for their lamps. possibly the repairer hsn't made a note of which lamp he has replaced and just ordered any lamp.

The chassis no. should also give the complete build of thecar and an MBZ dealer should be able to tell you which it should be. under the bonnet it will say don't touch these lamps and see the main dealer, that's because the control gear generates a high voltage to strike the lamp and make it light but with the ignition off there should be no problem accesing the original lamp to get the make and model no. off it or compar the two, be careful because they are not cheap and that's why the repairer is reluctant to swop it out because there's no market for second hand lamps! and he'll have to replace it at his cost.

hope this helps
