Charging of battery starts at 80'C !!STRANGE

Hello every body.
I m new here. May be Some 0ne can solve my prob.

I have a 190 E 2.0 Auto transmission. 264K on odo. from Oct. 1989.
Every thing works normely but..
Prob. is

When my car is cold,
battery shows 12.3 volts on volt meter. after starting shows 12.1, and goes down ( about 11- 10.8) if i use lights fan etc. until the egine temp. is below the normal temp.

After getting the NORMAL engine temp about 80/ 90'C battery begins getting charge slowly. Voltmeter at bettery shows about 13.0 Maximum.

I have changed the alternator ( second hand with New bushes) . but the prob. is still there.

I have checked and cleaned the points near the battery,but did not help.

Fuses are also ok.

Any one can help me out please.:roll:

With a good battery 12-12.5v would be normal before the start,but the running voltage is 13.8 volt

When you turn the key, do you get the red charge light on

Yes, i get the charge light and it goes off after starting, and never turnes ON after starting.

My thinking was that the lamp feed is part of the exciter part of the charging.
