I got Mercedes Benz coolant from a commericial van MB dealer far cheaper than the MB car dealer - about a quarter of the price, which restored my faith in humanity. Anyhow if you need coolant before the cold winter in the UK, try a MB van dealer first. They can get other MB parts too and probably cheaper, but you need the part number as they don't have the MB car parts computer system. The coolant is the same part number as the blue MB car coolant, I checked with the dealer.

Also - I have been using gsfcarparts.com and Eurocarparts.com for sourcing spares. Are these the cheapest in the UK for MB parts, or are there any other good MB parts suppliers? Cheers.

Van dealers work to the same price list as car dealers. If they did it cheap then its because they think theve pinced a sale from your local pc dealer thats all. Don't expect all cv dealers to do this as I suspect they won't

Not done a MB comparison, but I did see a comment from a Volvo driver who was tipped off by the car parts person that the the headlight he wanted was the same as used on Volvo trucks. I can't remember the price detail but it was a huge difference.

I'd say there is no particular pattern to it. If you're keen to save the pennies, check eBay, ECP, GSF, specialist/local breakers, Merc dealer. For reasons detailed elsewhere, nowadays I always stick with Mercedes genuine parts.

Hmmm...

So does that mean MB Commercial should be able to get parts such as Cats? Perhaps they could offer better discounts...? Def needs looking into....
