My local garage checked the pads/sensors - plenty of life in the pads (Recently mot'd with no advisories) but every 20 miles or so it pops back up again on the screen! I hit the ok button to remove it, but again it keeps coming back and it is really irritating when nothing wrong. Any ideas at all? Can it be reset in the systems management to alleviate problem?

Sounds like either a faulty sensor or possible broken wire, 1st thing to check is the wire that runs through the calipur to the sensor pickup, they can come loose or break..

the sensor wiring on my Vauxhalls used to go open circuit when the disc wore through the end of the sensor .... a temp 'fix' was to short the end of the sensor. However I'm sure that Merc's sensors ground the wiring onto the disc when it wears through so it's possible that the wiring to the sensor is being trapped & shorting to ground
This assumes that you're looking at the correct axle ...... ??? I'm guessing that my ML is the same as my previous R Class in that there is only 1 sensor per axle
