Check Engine Light

My CLK 200 has the Check Engine light come on, I started it was a bit lumpy possibly misfiring, then it came good and all was ok, the light has stayed on. Any ideas?

possible a little contaminated fuel, maybe a touch of oil gone in the MAF and the O2 sensor turned the lamp on

also Cud be plugs ,coil ends etc, once a misfire is detected it will need a read/reset on a diagnostic.
