Check Oil at next refuel-warning

Drove my C220 CDI sport last night (6600miles on clock) and had a warning message come up asking me to check the oil when I next refueled. I checked it last night and it seems fine but what might be the cause and what oil should I use to top up when it is needed.
After checking the oil the warning did not reappear

These things can show up on the odd drive, I would ignore it for now, it may come up the next time asking you to add a bit

If it does need a little oil, the specification will be in the handbook. It'll be something like MB229.3 or MB229.5. If you've got the particulate filter fitted it'll need to conform to a 229.31 or 229.51 spec. (The 229.5(1) is a superior grade to 229.3(1)). It'll be listed on the side of the cans if it conforms.
