I would have thought the best solution would be to check the washer fluid and fill it up with the correct mix of washer fluid and water. I use MB when the fill it for me or Autoglym when they don't. Or am I missing something ???

Think the OP is after the type of washer fluid.

MB own is very good (and surprisingly reasonably priced)

I'm sure MB's is very good but it's damn expensive stuff to be squirting around if you use the washers much. I tend to use mine a lot in this weather.
Personally, I go to the local motor parts shop and buy a 5L container of any decent concentrate from a proper manufacturer. I think I'm using Holts at the moment but Comma etc all do decent stuff. I'm fussy about oil, but washer fluid is going a bit far.
I never buy pre-mixed as it's also a rip off. You'd be better buying concentrate and a 5l bottle of Buxton Spring to make it up with!
Buy some concentrate, mix it up and pour it in. The lid is over the front N/S wheel arch.
When the light is on, it will take 5-6L to top up.
