OK I checked the ABC fluid and it was at the bottom of the indentation.
So topped it up to the top of the indentation.
Then came home and found it was now about the length of the indentation too much. The car being parked in the opposite direction!

Summary due to a wonky driveway. The ABC fluid was obviously smack on the the top of the indentation. Circa 6mm. Now its about 5 mm too high.

As its just a reservoir, am I correct to say it won’t matter?. (unlike engine oil that can start frothing if it is too high?).

Should be ok but if worried use an oil change pump or if you don't have one get some paper towel, dip it in, let it soak some up and remove it. Use decent paper towel though!

Did the level change because the fluid had expanded when warm/hot ?

partially the majority was the wonky tilted driveway.

Mobil 1 0W-40 expands like hell between stone cold and really hot hot!

I have a syringe for filling. But its so marginal I will leave it as the marker for engine on is the lower one so cant even get close to overspilling.

If you find it does this a lot, one of your accumulators is faulty and needs changing.

Thanks , thankfully never uses a drop, since MBS changed a front strut and changed the Fluid and micro filter . Hence the syringe, impossible to pour from a completely full ABC oil container .
MBS also changed my front accumulator. Saved me a fortune as they can change it without removing the pump!
Oddly it didn't drop the oil level, but made a horrible resonating occasional noise! But I discovered it early.
My mistake this time was forgetting the driveway was giving me a false low facing north and a false high facing south.
Guess after having a misting strut you get paranoid. That misting strut used about 10ml in 1,000 miles.

Yes, you can save lots of time by not removing the pump. MB Say to remove the pump to prevent debris and dust falling into the vertically facing opening when you remove the damper, so they sao to remove the pump, put it in a vice upsidown, and replace the damper this way.

As above you don't have it. If you ever buy an S, SL or CL then yes you do need to change it regularly - every 2 years or so.

Strictly speaking also on E class estates using SLS but you don't have that either. That was on S124 and S210 estates. Yours is an S211 (sometimes called a W211 too).
