Cherished number plate

A guy I knew - Yabsley was very excited the day he got 'YA65 LEY’ sent me a photo. He actually delayed buying a new car until that plate was available. But he was like that - would have a photo on the computer screen at work with his “kids” who just happened to be leaning against the new Jag parked on the 'in-out' driveway in-front of his big fancy house. Before he got the Jag he had MB ML and was always making sure his MB key-ring was prominently on display in a restaurant or pub.

I like the non-contrived ones and I have one with my initials (SRO) on that I've had since Pontious was only cabin staff!
In my opinion it adds something to the car.
Other may not agree but I don't care!

Yep in Australia I had a 200 series Landcruiser and the dealer checked (without my asking) and could get "RWQ 200” which I accepted and they supplied as part of the purchase price. Personalised plates were dirt cheap in South Australia. When I moved to Brisbane and purchased my SLK, 'SLK 350’ was also available (and also not expensive in Queensland) but I didn’t bother.

I'd quite like one, but the ones I like are about a grand and I would also have to get a newer car for them to be legal. So not for me then. ( holiday fund or private plate??? let me think a second)

I've never bought a personalised plate, but we have 3 or 4 cars with them on only because they've been attached to the cars we've bought and kept the plates when we've sold the cars on
