I am interested in upgrading the output of my ML270CDI engine. I see where the 270cdi engine as fitted to a sedan model runs around 430nm, whereas the ML only runs 400nm. What is the best value powerchip available to an Australian owner? Alternatively, is there a simple way of increasing boost without a chip to achieve a reasonable result?

Chip upgrade fpr 270CDI

Haven't had any answers but to inform anyone who is interested, I have located a group (worldwide) called Powerchip on the 'net. They produce a chip for the 270 for AUS$1290, which is about 520 English pounds. It increases torque from 400nm to 498nm and takes power up from 120kw to 140kw. All this with only 2-3 extra pounds of boost. That takes the torque to more than the latest BMW 3.0 litre diesel which was the benchmark at about 480nm. Sounds great. Am investigating further but will probably buy one.

Hi oigle, Sorry couldn't help you with the 'chip' question but please keep us updated regarding the 'powerchip' or any alternative that you fit to your ML..
