Only that I had the dented wheel arch repaired, rear wing and rear door stripped, painted and rebuilt, plus a loan car for the day - for £174 inc vat
You're right, it needs to be a decent job, but in many ways the A pillar should be one of the easiest (IMO) as they can fade it into the roof and it doesn't have to be blended into the wing as they are at different angles. Mine is brilliant silver too so they can match it - at least my chap didn't seem to have a problem. As others on this forum know, I am a very fussy customer and I have looked all anges and aside from the fact that all the other panles now obviously need a good polish (that'll be a job for Saturday), you really can't tell.
Do they have their own bodyshop?. I know my dealer doesn't and the chap I've just used, does work for a number of prestige dealers (or so he says and the Lotus and Maserati in his workshop would imply he's telling the truth). At the end of the day, the dealer will probably farm the work out to someone like them, and then add their 30% markup.
True, there is a question mark over the corrosion warranty, but to be honest, unless its a W210, I wouldn't worry. The chances of a claim on the A pillar is remote. Far more likely it would be another untreated stonechip and not valid anyway. Plus they have to find out. See if you can discover who Tony Purslow use and go direct, or else find a good reputable bodyshop and have them quote.
