It was difficult to get for a while Malcolm, but it seems to have been 'relaunched'! It really is worth the £5.60.

A useful thing is that it is very good on plastics as well, the more I think about it, it will polish anything. Unlik other's being in the tube it last forever and you cant knock it over

hanks MercA, malcolm

I was polishing the grill on my E a few months ago. Got the solvol out and it dawned on me that this must be the tube I bought as a youf to clean the bumpers on my Lada! It appears that chrome polish is for life, not just for christmas!
Maybe we should start a new thread, whats the oldest thing that you still regularly use on the car (besides yourself Malcolm!)

We could of course run a competition. Guess the age of jberks solvol! No prizes for the most accurate guess. I'm thinking 23 years old.

I will go 26 years.

I bought 10 1gallon cans of T cut back in 1965 fo £5.00 most of it got used, when I got down to 2 cans, the bottom rusted off one, and I lost that, but still have ½ gal in a new can.

The Lada was 1978, give it a couple of years before the chrome bumpers started rusting and that brings us to 26years ago before the Solvol Autosol had to be used . Damn !!, Malcolm beat me again.

Yes but Autosol was on the market long before that got to wait till MercA1 puts the recept up showing when he bought it.

I should have given some to one of my ex's as toothpaste (re tubed) the one that could bite, I gave her a heat gun re badged Hair drier for her birthday.

How old do you think I am!
I shared the Lada with my sister, who got it at 4 years old to learn on and is 2 years older than me so MercAl is the closest - I reckon it's around 22 years old!
Ok it was an ancient design, but £500 for a 4 year old motor with 25k on the clock - what a bargain!

they are like fish out of water over here.

you should see Ladas being driven in their natural environment. They blow everything else away. You wouldn't want to take your Merc down some of the roads that ladas are hammered down, yet they cope and come up smiling at the other end. All that suspension travel, full instrumentation and comprehensively full tool kit was there for very good reasons.

!

I am not very good at this, Successful in IT, doing very well, mature, sensible answers, slight sense of humour, gets up early in the morning, knows where he is going.

That lot makes you 44.
