On my W124, the whole lower section of the door cladding unlips by pulling the very bottom section out all the way along the doors length starting from one corner. Once done, slide the panel rearward and you will be able to release the upper section of the cladding and remove it completely.
Onthe reverse side of the cladding you will see some little white clips that hold the chrome strips in place. Rotate each clip by 90 degrees and the chrome strip can be removed.
15 minute process start to finish job including re-assembly. :wink:
