Chrome Wheels Allowing Air Loss

I bought my '97 E320 new from an MBZ dealer with chrome wheels on it. After a couple of years I began to notice air pressure loss in one or more tires. I have been told that the corroding chrome plating between the wheel and the tire bead allows air to escape. MBZ now tells me the company does not recommend chromed wheels. Is there a fix for this short of replacing the wheels? I have to add air to one or more tires every few weeks. Thanks.

You could try inner tubes. I've done it before to add a bit of life to tyres which had damage which didn't affect their safety, but which weren't airtight.

Find out where the leak is clean it and mix some metal paste and apply. This hardens in minutes.
It costs about £5 for the tube.from most accesory shops.
It is called quick steel.
