Snap, I'm also looking and have bookmarked a few to look at after Christmas. My knowledge of this model is zero but there are numerous videos on youtube -mainly US - from which I've learnt a great deal. I believe the main issue is the ABC suspension but I'm not qualified to answer questions on this matter.Does anyone have owners experience of the Cl 500 5.5 as I am thinking of purchasing a 2007 -2011 please?
And that the facelift was an AMG HelenI had one and it was a great car. The only real problems were bottom arms (they eat them) and pulsation dampers. Both are fairly cheap fixes if you use an indy.
The only reason I got rid, was to buy a facelift.
You and me, both. I spent almost a month looking at adverts for CL500's with the 4.7 biturbo engine... Moved on now!I wish people would stop asking about these, had to go and look!!!!!

I don't think the kerb weights are that much different pal , it is however a different feel from the saloon , obvs the doors are longer for access / egress too which is something to consider when buying oneThe 4.7 Bi Turbo is fantastic in my S class so should be even better with removing the weight of a couple of doors and a couple of feet in length
Where do you spend more timeOur quandary would be - do we either have a posh coupe/luxo-barge plus a cheap tow car, or a posh tow car and a cheap run-around. Not solved that dilemma yet...
GL/GLS are a nice place to bePlanning some longer caravan trips, hence moved on from CL500's...
On autotrader thinking about itWhere do you spend more time
Zero weight removal, the floor stiffening required more than makes up for it!The 4.7 Bi Turbo is fantastic in my S class so should be even better with removing the weight of a couple of doors and a couple of feet in length
