CL500 2004 C215 AIRCON WEIRDNESS?

Hi all.

This is a bit of a strange one.

When the Aircon in my car is set to ‘Lo’ it blows ice cold air which is great!

However, as soon as I adjust the temperature up with the Aircon left on by a single point, from low to 12, the temperature seems to go up much more than that, it almost feels that it’s gone to its hottest setting?

I know this might sound daft but am I imagining this?, because it has been so cold in the car and then all of a sudden with the Aircon slightly raised it feels warmer than it is, or is there something more going on? I don’t seem to be able to regulate lower temperatures very well once the Aircon is taken off ‘Lo’?

I hope this makes sense!

Yet again, any help tips or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Either the duo valve is sticking or the interior cabin temp sensor is giving wrong values (too high). Tapping the duo valve can release it sometimes, but it does need plugging in. There is a diag mode for the climate that will allow you to read the interior temp sensor value, but I cannot remember it at this time.

If you set it to Lo and run it for any length of time then switch to a temperature higher than the interior temperature the Aircon unit will send hot air to get to the new temperature as quickly as possible.

Other than that it's probably as Alex said - cabin sensor is failing.
