Hi guys!
My shifter can't select the position correctly and I decidet to replace it. After the replacement the car wouldn't start and when I want to start the engine I need to disconnect the wires from the new shifter, put it back to the demaged one (which is the original) and after starting I need to disconnect the wires again and put in back on the new one shifter and the car starts running without any issues till the next starting.
Any suggestions why the car don't start with the new shifter?
Thank you!

Do you still have the old shifter?

Problem is a plastic spawl in linkage that breaks and locks up, you can buy a metal one from ebay to repair your original and you will never need to eplace again.

Had to do mine on my W220.
