Hi all.

I have a 2004 CL500 with a manual release.

I’ve noticed when it pops open it often doesn’t open fully and the springs are quite noisy.

Is there any way to lubricate the opening mechanism to quieten it down and to allow the boot to open fully when it’s popped and if so what would I need to use and whereabouts on the mechanism?

Many thanks.

Regards.

Use some Wd40 as a first on all the hinges to free it up.

I used WD40 penetrating PTFE spray on my 215, liberally on all hinges and springs. And locks for that matter! Worked a treat.

On the boot don’t forget to unclip the spring covers and give the springs a good clean too.
