Just to say, yes you need to wait for your ABC pipe before you fire it up again, but I would strongly suggest you don't start it without the back box fitted either, else you may never want to fit it again! We did just that and it sounded awesome!

even with band new freshly charged batteries I wouldn't expect to complete diagnostics on a toy laden monster without adding some assistance. At least plug the battery charger in at the same time (not to the battery earth !) so just having the ignition on hasn't dropped you below 12v after a few minutes

the 221 uses 37 amps just turning on the key

and looking at coding BMWs they recommend an 80 amp power supply to maintain stable voltage !!!

Good news!

I checked every fuse and they were all fine, I dropped all windows with the remote so I could open the doors.
I disconnected the battery for 30/60 mins while I was doing some bits to the rear, I reconnected it coz it started ****ing down so I needed to shut the windows.
The soft close boot, windows going up and down when doors are used and the indicators now flash when locked

I started it a few weeks ago with the rear sections off, it sounded awesome! I've since cut the rear cats out as they were rattling inside and getting on my tits when driving

i think if i was at ABC repairs i would tackle it one bit at a time and not the whole package ,that way i would know where any drama if any, originated from ie pipes good ,valve block good ,accumulators good more hassle but i could not face the dramas of not knowing where an issue may originate from otherwise, but thats just me. ANYTHING to do with this requires surgery type cleanliness and attn to detail .anyway when you get yr pipe on look codes again (star ) , given welding dramas most likely fuse good luck popped out or more than one when arc struck if yr lucky.

I got the rear drivers side shock off today, replaced 3 arms on that side, still got 1 to go. I waxoiled the arch and fitted a new dust cover/sleeve thing to the shock, I need to get longer clips to fix the cover on though. Just thought I would do that while I was waiting for the pipe

As mentioned utmost cleanliness is very important when working on ABC. Fluid and filter should be changed every two years.
