Cl500 Shutdown

Having returned from a drive in my 2001 CL500 I turned off the engine to open the gates. When I tried to restart everything went dead and the driver's door locked (although the "pip" remained up) and could not be opened from the inside or the outside even with the manual key. I eventually got out through the passenger door. The boot is also locked and cannot be opened with the manual key. Any ideas? The car has only done 20,000 miles and recently had a B service.

this is a vacuam pump fault I think. I will look it up later in the day to see if anything known.

One cure would be to have electric gates
