As the Mobilo subcontracted RAC breakdown guy said, he though some of the squeak might be a failed bushing at the top of the ABC leg, that he “thought but was not sure” might have to rotate a little.
Q. Do these struts rotate at the top? Does not look like it to me - I assume they lower tube just goes in and out.
So I thought I would check availability of these struts as the car is now 13 years old.
Dealer says its now only a reconditioned part, but there are None in UK, none in Germany, no advisory as to when new parts available - but “ it does not state that you can not order them”.
Q. I just wonder how one can check the last year these struts were used on CL500s?, i.e. thinking of the 10year pledge to have parts.
And if the part no. starts MA 221 is that for the S Class Saloon as well i.e. more demand as the CL was a bit of a niche product.
It would be a bit gutting if you had to scrap a low mileage, perfect car (apart from my recent niggles) because there are no suspension legs?
