CL600 and Keyless Go

Hi there folks,

I have a slight (hopefully) problem with the keyless go on my 2001 cl600 in as much as, walking up to the car and touching the handle opens the car, but I cannot lock it by pressing the button on the handle ... this occurs with both cards. I've replaced batteries in both but still nothing. I can only lock the car using the standard key fob.

Is it something stupid I'm missing or do I need to reset the alarm system (which I've ploughed through all the manual and can't seem to find how to achieve)

Any advice would be gratefully received.

You probably need new buttons.

It needs proper diagnosis as these systems are complicated.

Thanks for that.

Just to satisty my curiosity, is there a master reset for the alarm system?!

I've looked through the tome of manuals and can find nothing in there on how to do this.

Once again, Thanks

Have you tried the button on the boot that also closes the whole car, if this does not work then it will not be the buttons

Don't suppose you leave a spare set of keys in the car do you:( If so, it will not lock if the aerials detect keys inside.

Once again, thanks for your replies ...

The button under the boot works fine, but I've just checked the passanger side door (having never been sat on that side of the car!) and that doesn't work either.

I don't have any other keys or cards kept in the car, so it's not that either

Would removing the relevant relays/fuses for the alarm system help or hinder matters?!

Thanks guys

No, I would go there just in case you end up with more faults. Like C55 says, needs diag machine & checked out.
