Hi

Ive got a CL600 with a really weird starting issue when you crank it over the car starts on the button but you can hear the starter staying ingaged.

But when you turn the car of you can still hear the starter turning over and when i looked at the front of the engine you can still see the engine turning over slowly.

And this is then in turn flattening the battery. I think it turns over slowly after you turn off the ignition is because the battery is dying and thing it would turn over at normal speed if the battery was fully charged.

I think the starter is at fault but dont want to remove it if its not the other thing i was thinking is that the relay is sticking on.

Any ideas guys or has anyone seen this problem before:confused::confused:

This has to be within the starter, the solenoid can only be energized with 12 volt, there is no connection between the battery connection and the relay as such. the ign switch purely energizes the solenoid, As it stands now the starter pinion has become jammed.

Cannot be any thing else

You can remove the small wire, and it will still be the same, this only leaves the thick cable, so once again nothing else could cause that fault
