Just failed the MoT as the offside front lower track arm has some play in the ball joint. It looks like a straightforward replacement. Are there any gotcha's to look out for as I cant find any details on YouTube showing how to go about it?

thanks

Simon

It looks similar to most Merc ones, so many on YT should be applicable. There bolts shouldn't be tightened fully until the weight of the car is on the wheels otherwise the rubber bushes will be twisted and may fail early

Most ball joint tools dont fit in the recess of the center joint, be carefull not to damage the lower joint on the ABC Strut.

Tighten the bush side bolt with the wheels on the ground and the weight of the car on the suspension. E: sorry, just saw that was already mentioned above

If using an aftermarket arm, get the wheel alignment done afterwards.
