Can anyone point me in the direction of an insurer that will allow a younger driver (19) to take out a classic car policy?

I’ve looked at a few, but every one I’ve come across says the minimum age is 2x.
It’ll be used for no more than 5k miles pa & will be a second car.

Are there any insurers that look kindly upon older M-Bs?

5k a year is quite high for a classic, I only just do that in my real car.

I think you will struggle until you are at least 21. One option a young friend from work used was to share the car with his Father and insure it for the two of them, with the youngster as the second driver. You also have the problem that classic or not MB's will be judged as unsuitable for young drivers. The classic car in our household maybe 34 years old but it is still the most powerful engine, would I trust a 19 year old with 200+ bhp V8, hard to say but Im not the one you have to get onboard.

All this proves is that their are advantages to getting old!

All you can do is ring around BEFORE you buy, good luck.

Mark.
