Thinking of using one of these garden gazebos to put over the car in summer when cleaning and polishing, so difficult to plan with our weather.

Well they appear to work for our local Halfords and the Supermarket Car wash stations?

They are a PITA to put up - you need 4 people to do it quickly - 1 / leg. Then you need weights on the legs (or peg them down) so that a sudden gust doesn't smash it onto your car - .....etc

Ah ok, that wouldn't really work. I'll just wait for a not so sunny dry day.

Or do it early morning when there's less heat.

I made on early start last summer, but because I was doing a detail, I was still polishing into the early afternoon. Unless it's ok to polish when it sunny?

When I’m going to do a Big detail, I usually do it over 3/4 days :D

    To do everything properly, ie..

    De contamination
    2 bucket wash
    Clay
    Repeat 2 bucket wash
    Wheels
    Windows
    Bright work
    Polish
    Wax
    I’ve probably missed some.
It’s really hard work, so if you can split it up over a few days all the better.
You might have to chuck another wash in there somewhere, weather depending.

You can pick them up for about £30-40, but if the weather is that nice, I'd be doing something else...

You haven't been detailing then o_O. You need to waste at least a full sunny day, and be knackered at the end to make it count!

You won't be polishing today buddy , full sun and hot . I'm just going to move the car over the road into the shade and slap a quick coat of wax on the CLK because I washed it yesterday :D

In the past I would have agreed with you, but once you've used a clay bar you are lost. :(:(:(:(

Anyone cheering up an older car with perhaps a few genuine Mercedes rust streaks can clean them off with " Bar Keepers Friend" which contains oxalic acid which is to added to many rust treatment products.

    Oxalic acid is used for many things and this is just an easy way of accessing it;
