Cleaning my wife's Unmerc

Spent a couple of days awakening the paint-work of our Astra. It's usually neglected as I prefer shining the Merc. I used McGuires polish (pre-wax glaze) then Bilt Hamber wax. All very satisfying.

Super reliable. It's a GTC 2 litre. 53,000 miles. We bought it new (crazy, I know) but the compensation is that we got automatic transmission and full leather interior, heated seats etc. Very unusual spec.

Despite the number plate, it was registered in 2014.

I was considering a GTC 2 litre diesel automatic earlier this year to replace my ageing 202. Very nice cars l feel and a lovely sporty shape. In the end though a super CLK220 CDI came up which l subsequently purchased and which is also a lovely sporty shape.

That has come up really well buddy , you can’t beat black paint when it’s cleaned properly . Good job

Looks very good, GTC is a sound enough car , the big heavy doors and relatively small boot space are about the only things that can be considered a down side

My vision is rewarded every time I look out of the windows. The big door mirrors are very useful too.

It's not a huge boot, but can take a couple of golf bags and a trolley. Of course, it's cavernous if you fold the back seats down.

That's a very good polish job - as Wighty says above - you can’t beat black paint when it’s cleaned properly - but it does tend to take some effort to get there! I'll pm you my address so you can pop round and do mine when you're bored!
