Got caught out in a rain storm on Monday in my new 116 and had to put into action the very old wiper blades that came with the car... they're mainly for 'display' purposes... old rubber left some scratches/ streaks on the windscreen... is there a good product that will get these out or reduce them?

don't laugh

but you could try toothpaste. I'm not sure whether you need the fluoride version, but it does no harm to your tooth enamel, does it.
Otherwise, I can recommend the 'Hindsight' glass scratch remover/polish that is advertised in ME and our mag. I used it in the SL and it does work, but at £40-ish, you might try Ultra-brite first.

ha- I'll have to try that. My wife just loves it when ordinary household items dissappear to be used on the car...

or if you have fully comp insurance just put a brick through the windscreen. Sounds a bit drastic but normally a new windscreen will only cost you £50 (only £10 more than the polishing compound) if it's on your insurance and wont affect your no claims.

Like your style Neil. Knowing my luck it would go straight through, bounce off the headrest and smash the dash to bits.

Enough compound for two cars cost,£10 with postage, nothing else works quite like it.
