clear error message without star computer?

Chaps, I just had my hand-brake cable changed on my W211 e-class at an independent garage. However, the warning on my dash saying 'warning brake - visit workshop' wont go away. How do i clear this error without going to Merc?
Can it be done?

This is an SBC warning and the car must go on STAR to see

Same message will appear for a faulty brake light switch too. Will need a STAR test though as Malc said
