Hi,

New to forum, but have used it in the past to get iideas on problems...and all i can say is what a great forum this is! cannot sing its praises enough!

Right thats enough rear end pecking!

W124 300CE '88' 139k miles

The problem i have is that when the car warms up and i accelerate off, i can hear a clicking noise from underneath the car, like somthing metal knocking! tried this a few times by accelerating and then quicly removing my foot fo the gas, can hear it do it constantly.
My suspect it may be the gear box mount (engine mounts changed 2 months ago, Subframe mounts to be changed next week)

Any ideas on what it could possibly be? or where to look?

Also has the ususal hot start problems....<10 mins ok, >10mins first turn starts then dies immedialtly, second turn starts ok

Need advise, as car is booked next week.....

Thanks!!!!!

My thought was exhaust as I read your description. It may be worth giving it a good poke/shake along with the support arm and the heat shields.

Mike.

Had a check over the weekend, and it appears to be that the on rotating the prop shaft, there is a noise associated with the front half, so im suspecting the coupling, any takers?
Tried the UJ test, and there was no play, not bad for 134k miles on the clock i thought!
