climate blowing only cold!!!

can anyone help, I own a e270 cdi avantgarde 53 reg, 04 model. My climate is blowing out cold AIR ONLY.. what possibly could be the fault.

Mine did it too for a couple of days but seems to be behaving itself again now.

Thanks mate, again another one, tested it again a few hours ago, it is behaving itself now and blowing hot & cold.. Thanks for the advice though, one to note, should it happen again.. Is it right though that to change the duo valve it is 3 hrs labour, and what is the actual fault with it, does it stick ??

I would a say two hours labour if the mechanic knows how and what he is doing, but it is not a easy job by any means.

The slide valve within gets bunged, jammed up and the electric motor can no longer slide it about.

I would suggest that if it does need replacing, you go and see a reputable indie for 2 reasons.
Firstly - it's questionable as to whether a dealer tech will have ever done one. Far more likely an indie will have done.
Secondly - whilst taking an hour less, their hourly charges are half that of a dealer.

I do use the dealers for some things, but faults like this would have me straight down to the indie.
