Hi,
I have a 1990 300CE and the light on the climate control seems to be off.
I guess its probably the bulb.
Its behind the temperature control wheel on passenger side and the bezel area of the fan.The light in the centre of the fan is working. Drivers side is fully lit.
From what I've read I thought there was only 1 bulb on each side for this.
Is there 3 each side ?
Does anybody know how to change it. Thought I'd check before ripping anything apart.

Thanks

Sorry, no I don't but would be interested to see your report when you've done it - mine is gone on the driver's side.

to replace the bulb you need to gently pry out the rotating dial (if its stiff use a pliars with a hanky/soft cotton cloth to avoid scratching the dial.)

once it is out, theres a small white triangular piece of plastic that rotates out of the way (just use a small screwdriver to manevour it) then behind that is the very very small little bulb.

I've seen various recommendations for how to remove that bulb, and i tried the 'straw' trick with superglue to name a few. In the end I removed the bulb with a steady hand and a small pliars by placing the pliars arms gently over each side of the bulb and giving a hard pull. Be careful not to press to hard or you'll crack the wee bulb and if that happens then oops...

to replace the bulb, reverse the above actions (you can buy the replacement in mercedes main dealer)

cheers
