I've just had a new condenser, receiver/dryer and re-gas courtesy of my 'Mickey Mouse' warranty. Unfortunately the money ran out before the job was finished....(lack of expertise really).
The EC light is still on and won't go out. Before I book it in for a diagnostic, is there a reset trick after a fault condition or should it just run?
I'm still very happy with the rest of the car, just a bit out of character- I suspect the article in Merc Enthusiast was right about lack of servicing/use.
Any clues or do I just bite the bullet and book it in?

Climate control

Hi Dave

First thing to note is the EC button means Economy. So with the EC light on the AC is switched off. If you have had all this work carried out and the ac is still not working. It will need to go into the garage to be sorted. There is no reset button on your model. Although if it were me and the amount of work which had been carried out on the ac I would of made sure it worked or given you a specific reason why it dosn't. Maybe you should return to those who fitted it for an explanation.

Climate control

Thanks Andy, I thought I'd get a reply from you. I appreciate your comments but it isn't quite that simple (is it ever?). The 'warranty' had a single claim limit of £500 so to complete the work by MB would have overshot this figure. The garage therefore opted to use their own ac man (who was not up to the req'd spec) but fitted all the right bits. So at the moment we are at the stage of discussing who pays for what to complete the repair. In order to find out what needs doing I have said I will get the car to a diagnostic man who will hopefully advise the likely problem and cost. I really just asked if there was any more I could do to make sure we hadn't missed anything silly.
Once again, thanks Andy- you've confirmed my suspicions, it's off for diagnosis.
