Hello chaps, new to the forum and really enjoying being a part of this interesting and helpful community. Started with a 114 230/6, then a 190e and just got a C240 Sport Est which is simply great to drive. But someone clipped the o/s wing mirror which made the outer casing come off the frame and the heated mirror glass dangling on its cabling. How should I try a fix of the problem? Have tried sticky tape for the glass but it vibrates on a drive and though the cover can be pushed back against the frame, it works loose in a few days.

Hello and welcome,,I feel that you may have lost some parts to the mirror, like the wire spring that keeps the glass in across the top

I can send you some details

Malcolm, the wire clip is there and hooks in the top of the mirror.

Is,nt it only the folding mirrors that have the wire clip to secure the outer mirror cover? I thought the non-folding type had triangular shaped clips.
Probably wrong, frequently am :(.

I remember seeing a short video demonstrating how to remove the outer cover of one of these mirrors in finding it though I have proved that I was wrong in my previous post.
Below is a link to a short video clip on how to remove a W210 E class mirror cover which is the "exactly" the same mirror as your C class 202
