clk 200 autobox/towing

hi there could anyone tell me if there is a simple way of disconnecting the auto box for towing purposes, would like to take the car to merc to get the new auto box programed and all the codes reset, i have tick over, selection of gears but no drive, ecu not recognising box at min i would like to tow it myself with straight bar. ps correct oil and level in box .

ok for 30 miles at low speed but NO engine running!!!!
