At the start of May l posted a problem on here about the issues l was having with the electric roof on my car. Unfortunately l have had no reply and l have resigned myself to wait until the COVID 19 restriction have been lifted and l can go through to Leeds to see a specialist.
A new problem has since developed, l can no longer unlock the roof with the specialised spanner and lower the roof manually, has anybody else come across this problem.? Any help would be very much appreciated.

It's hard to diagnose the problems with CLK roofs over the Internet. I'm presuming you are w208?
Which part are you having trouble with? The 6mm Allen key in the ceiling of the boot or the 10mm spanner between the back seat tombstones?

Hi, Thanks for your reply, the car is a W208. The problem is the 10mm bolt between the back seat and the rear panel. The spanner fits on the bolt/nut head and moves it but the lock will not release, it seems that the mechanism which holds the rear hood in place is not being released.

If memory serves, the two are linked. Make sure the one in the ceiling of the boot is fully released before trying the 10mm one. Even if it has only backed up a bit I think it holds the other one off

Well done, that was exactly right when l checked the position of the two and reset them l have managed to release the roof. At least l can now have the roof lowered until l can get the car to Leeds to have the main roof problems fixed.
What a pity l don’t live considerably closer l could draw on your expertise a lot more.
Thanks again.
