Hi

I am getting ABS and BAS light on my car, i have replaced the foot brake switch, but the problem remains, any idea what diagnoctics i can carry out to fix this problem.

My car has been parked up for a while so i think some sensor might have become faulty.

I have notice a strange ticking noise comming from the connector which connects to the ABS unit, it tick for about 15 seconds then stops and then cycle repeats after a bit.

Any help will be appreciated.

Thank you

Your ticking noise sounds more like the MOT valve mounted on the NSF inner wing. If it is , this is standard. As for the ABS, what year is it? Up to about 98, they suffered from water getting into a plug on the BAS unit fitted under the brake servo, A bit fiddly to get to.

Check the battery, and turn steering lock to lock, worth a try.

The brake light switch will not fix ABS problems.
When the ignition is on the lamp should be on and will only go out when the engine is running. Is the light on all of the time or does it go off sometimes.
