CLK 320 air cond ++ probs

Hi, Just picked up a 2000 CLK 320 Elegance Coupe, and very nice it is too. But life is never simple, so it's got a couple of faults ... both of which I fear are electrical. First, the AC doesn't get cold. I had a look and it seems the clutch on the compressor doesn't get energised, so it's always in idle. Any thoughts? Second, the outside temp is stuck on 58 deg C. Cold or Hot. Third, if nothing else can you recommend someone near Reading / Bracknell etc to fix? Cheers. :???:

Hi & Welcome to the Forum.

Your compressor is not running as the gas will most likely have left. You could just get it re-gassed, but have them put a dye in so when it leaks again you can see where from.
Possibly the AC has not been used for awhile, then the seals dry out and the gas escapes.
As for the temp guage, it looks like the sensor behind the bumper has failed.

CBR600 ... mmm ... I had to sell my SV650 and buy a plasma, all in the name of domestic bliss. Thanks for the feedback. I'll check out the phonebooks for an AC guy in the area.

Hope your Plasma lasts as long as my CBR (had it 13yrs now)
As for the AC make sure they are familiar with MB, I would try and find a good indie in the area, I'm sure someone else will come on and recommend one.
