clk 320 cabin fan control

Hi all
New MB owner. On start up fan blower doesn't work but cuts in when control dial on full after approx 1 minute, thereafter no problems until next start. Is this normal? thanks.

Need more info really but in AUTO mode sounds normal, the engine water temp needs to be above a certain threshold before the fan can operate.

Thanks. Even if cold air is selected the fan still won't start until after a minute or so. On every other car I've had you just turn on the fan and it starts regardless of the engine temp. Thank you for your help

Had the same problem with mine a few weeks ago, though mine just worked when it wanted to, not when I wanted it. Fan started/stopped then started again.
Turned out to be some kind of regulator under the dash/passenger side (RHD car)......not a cheap piece of kit (apparently over £150.00) but done under warranty.
My fan now works instantly from start, which is essential for de-misting really (de-icing soon if this weather continues!)
