Read a few things about the Service Assist indication before, but was wondering if my question about it is normal.
I have a 2002 CLK320 which has covered 97K, When it was last serviced in Nov 2005 (A service), the service indictor showed 12000 miles to the next service (B Service). I know that this can extend dependant on driving styles, but I thought that it did need to go into the grage at least once a year, no matter what the mileage is.
When it came to last November, the readout was saying about 4500 miles before next service, this was after covering approx 11000 miles (all motorway miles), this went down to 3400 last month, but has now gone back up to 4200 miles last night after a 300 mile trip, this is after 14 months since the last service.
What is the max time when the car should go into the garage and should the indicator reflect this ?
All the travelling in this car are long motorway ones, no town trips, so I would expect longer service intervals, but this, if correct, is proving to be very good, 18 months and 18000 miles between services.
