clk 320 squirl on steering

Can any one help, I have a noise coming from my power steering, its sqweaking noise, very annoying. it comes and goes!!! Topped up with fluid. but noise is still there???
Any ideas any 1

Is the serpentine belt tight enough, is it glazed on the inside

the belt looks a little shinny and a light brown color... i took it to my mercedes dealer they said 9x out of 10 it the pump but could be the rack. the steering feels quite heavy also??

Hi,
The noise is coming from the under the bonnet? not from inside the vehicle as I have read somewhere of a bush that dries out where the steering column exits the car into the engine bay.
If the noise is from under the bonnet please ignore my post.

the noise is from under the bonnet, its coming from the power steering part as i can hear???
