CLK 320 Whistling sound

I have a 1999 320 clk. during acceleration there is a very irritating whistle,the lower the refs when accelerating the more annoying.It sounds like an exhaust or belt whistle,i have had it checked ,no leaks etc.Mercedes dealer says it is inherant to that model ?
Any ideas please or answers

I also have the same sound from my car (clk 320) 99 i feel better now knowing someone else has it!!

Yep - my Man says it's the supercharger. I've heard the same noise from my CLK230 Sport and from my neighbour's Porsche.
