CLK auto problem

Hi all,

I have owned a Clk 200K (208) for the last two years and to date have had no problems with it

Yesterday however and today the gearbox (tip auto) appears to be playing up. I first noticed when moving from 'n' to 'd' the car did not move. I reselected again ok.

Today when going form d to park the slector felt a little unusual not the smooth as usual but a little bit 'clicky'.

No message on the malfunction came up. The car has done 110k and far as I know auto fluid has not been changed although it was checked some time ago and no reports.

I live in Clapham South London. Any ideas/comments

Hello,

It sounds like you might have the start of a selector module problem! But it is worth getting the fluid level checked and the fault memory read as this would give you a idea!!!!

When you shift into drive and it doesn't move does the 'D' come up in the display on the dash???

I believe the D was displayed at the time. But having said that and seeing that it happened recently I may have not noticed the display.

You mentioned the selector module as being a possilbe cause; is this an expensive fix. I have used Mercsonly in the past with no problems. Theres a place called TSW in Balham if anyones used them or heard of them before as a drive to Ealing first thing in the morning doesn't sound to appealing at the moment.
