Hi clever guys! Passenger seat has suddenly stopped sliding back and fore. When I use the door switch/button there's a relay click from under the seat but no motor run. The other motor,-up and down, functions normally as does the seat back. Is there a motor fuse tucked away or in the main fuse cluster (where please!) or a busted wire perhaps. Any clues/suggestions very welcome. Many thanks, Rollo

Faulty connector or motor maybe, you need a volt meter or test lamp to check with

Pressing the memory button and not a number releases the memory and the seat would be free to move, but the manual adjustment over rides that as well

Thanks very much Gentlemen. Will have another wrestle with it tomorrow. It's evidently a fairish job to remove the seat, but I'm probably going to have to. I bet I undo far too many nuts and the whole lot falls to bits. Is there an easy, by the book procedure? Cheers everyone, really appreciate your kind advice. R

Hi there, just read this and thought new would be the time to sign up. I am an interior trimmer and specialise in Mercedes. The problem you have and one that is becoming more of problem is the motors are burning out. Mercedes are even stocking the replacement part as it is happening so often now. You will find that the fuse is in the boot of the car for the electric seat switch. Replacing this (if it hasn't blown) will mean the seat will move slow, smell of burning and will blow a fuse again. The part costs rough £88inc VAT. To remove the seat is always fun with the seat stuck if you require further info please feel free to contact me, we have done enough of these now.

Just in case it is not any of the things above, and before you spend any money, would suggest that you try the seat reset/synchronize procedure as outlined in the handbook below.
